August First Friday at the Pember Library and Museum in Granville, NY will feature Deadful Art Cinco, a Retrospective. "Dreadful Art is a contrarian show that recognizes and ennobles the pitfalls along the path of artistic creation, said show assistant Gigi Zeitler. "It's inspiration, talent or technique on the wrong track or in the wrong hands. The individual artists put a lot of themselves into these paintings, and there's a strangeness, beauty and humor in seeing all of them together. It's always great fun."
This year, there will be over fifty works on display, including some gems from the past, and a silent auction with most bidding starting at one dollar.
Ballots for “Worst of the Show” will be available at the Pember. Open call for submissions runs until Thursday, August 2. Submissions may be dropped off until then at the Library. Works will be sold off at 8 pm the night of the show.
A special play list of recorded music to complement the décor will be part of the show.
Refreshments will be provided.
First Friday is August 3, from 7 to 9 pm and is a free event.
