PROGRAMS
Due to Covid-19, we are not having in-person programming at the library.
Movie Madness:We may reinstate the movie program if enough people ask for movies.
Pember Peapods:This group meets every Tuesday at 10 AM led by Holly, Carol or Angela. The stories, songs, and games are geared to preschool children. Parents / caregivers should plan to stay with their child for this program.

Lego Club:

Meet after school on Friday to build with Legos. We have books and magazines to give you ideas for building or you can start from scratch and design your own.

A Good Yarn:

This group meets on Wednesday 3:00 -4:30 PM to work on  their current knit or crochet project and help each other learn new techniques.
Beginner and experienced knitters and crocheters are encouraged to teach each other and to learn from each other. The library will provide space for crafters to meet and to socialize while working on their yarn projects. The library will have a limited amount of yarn, crochet hooks, and knitting needles for people to try the crafts before they invest money in needed equipment. Basic stitches will be taught and more advanced techniques can be researched through books and online resources. Please call the library for additional information

Learn with Linda:

One Saturday each month, Linda will present a program with crafts and stories.  This program usually begins at 11:00 AM. Check the Event Calendar for details.

Summer Reading Program:

During the summer, we encourage school-aged children to continue reading by offering a NYS sponsored reading program.  There are programs for beginning readers through elementary school students and a separate program for teens.

Throughout the summer, by reading books, children earn rewards including more books, in addition to making crafts and sharing time together.

The 2019 Summer Reading slogan for ALL ages is “A Universe of Stories” and the theme is space.

The 2020 Summer Reading slogan for ALL ages is “Imagine your Story” and the theme is fairy tales, mythology, fantasy.

The 2021 Summer Reading slogan for ALL ages is “Tails and Tales”and the theme is animals and stories.

The 2022 Summer Reading slogan for ALL ages  will be “Oceans of Possibilities” and the theme is oceanography.

The 2023 Summer Reading slogan for ALL ages is “All Together Now” and the theme is friendship & kindness.

Special Programs:

The Pember also welcomes various performers and presenters.

Computers for Seniors:

These are computer courses aimed at providing beginner and intermediate instruction including email and the Internet for senior citizens. Please contact the library if you are interested in scheduling a session.
